Civil/Traffic Engineer

ERI has an opening for a degreed Civil Engineer, who seeks to become an active employee in an energetic, well-established company that provides excellent salary and benefits. The position includes the responsibility for the planning and design of municipal infrastructure; planning, design, and review of project tasks associated with traffic and transportation engineering; and various site development and municipal project tasks for both municipal and private clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist with the field investigations, project development, designs and various tasks associated with capital improvement, traffic, transportation, site, and roadway design.
- Prepare design calculations, gather, and compile data, and prepare reports, such as Traffic Impact Studies, Speed Limit Studies, Parking Studies, Traffic Calming reports, etc.
- Prepare and interpret Traffic Signal/Electrical Plans and Timing Directives.
- Assist with the preparation of Proposals.
- Preparation of Design Plans and Specifications.
- Assist in Planning/Zoning Board reviews of site plans and traffic studies for private development projects.
- Attend Planning/Zoning Board meetings and provide testimony on behalf of both municipal or private clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
- New Jersey Professional Engineer License or the ability to obtain reciprocity for a New Jersey License.
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Certificate or the ability to obtain a PTOE certificate within the next two (2) years.
- At least one (1) year of experience in Traffic, Transportation, Highway Engineering design and or studies. Lighting design experience a plus.
- Software experience includes: Microsoft Office, Synchro/SimTraffic and/or HCS 2010. MicroStation V8i a plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of NJ Title 39 Motor Vehicle Law, MUTCD Standards and ITE Trip Generation and Parking Generation Procedures.
- Knowledge of NJDOT Design Standards and Residential Site Improvement Standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to create professional deliverables using client standards.
- Ability to work independently or part of a project team.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
