Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, the Director of Education Business Development will work with NJHA leadership to execute on new initiatives and opportunities resulting in high-impact business success for the association. The Director will collaborate with matrixed teams to align member education needs, develop new business opportunities, and grow revenue.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, be experienced at identifying trends and member/client needs to develop new opportunities, possess problem-solving skills, and well versed in addressing the challenges and opportunities of professional education business development.

The Director will be responsible for preparing business plans, recommending new educational products or services, leading a team to pursue business growth, presenting budgets to management, providing leadership to the Education team, including those matrixed but not directly reporting to the Director. The Director will maintain a high level of healthcare knowledge, professional credibility, and ethical standards in all interactions with internal stakeholders, association members, healthcare professionals, and other audiences that serve as a trusted partner in Education.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and effectively manage efforts:
    • to identify trends and member needs to develop new business opportunities.
    • to manage the design and development of a portfolio of courses and programs delivered in various instructional design modalities (online, hybrid, in person).
    • to collaborate closely with subject matter experts, internal and external, to develop course design.
    • to oversee, maintain, and enhance NJHA’s LMS for end users to ensure a positive user experience.
    • to ensure and monitor compliance of educational activities with NJHA and credentialling agency policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Follow changes in healthcare to keep informed of education needs and work with internal stakeholders to identify membership education needs.
  • Build new business networks, while improving on and expanding current relationships with internal and external clients through professional service delivery.
  • Assess quality and work to continuously improve education content and user-experience.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, protocols, and procedures, automating and innovating as appropriate.
  • Identify and present short, mid-, and long-term goals for new initiatives to senior vice president.
  • Develop and produce quantitative and qualitative reports to enhance Education offerings, evaluations, and marketing/outreach.
  • Develop monthly consolidated educational P&L statements.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master’s degree (MBA, MPA preferred) is preferred.

Demonstrated business acumen, proven ability to establish and maintain productive business relationships, and deliver results in a timely manner.

Ability to research relevant literature, effectively put concepts into perspective, and communicate relevant information to a variety of audiences.

Ability to problem-solve with a high degree of independent judgement and initiative.

Strong leadership capabilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Highly advanced organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Strong strategic and creative thinking skills.

Strong computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Articulate 360.

Enthusiastic and approachable with ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
