Summary: 


Under the direction of the Director of Advertising and Integrated Marketing Strategy, the Marketing Coordinator will work independently on multiple concurrent tasks and will consult and update supervisor on a regular basis concerning the progress of assignments.

 

Primary Job Duties:


-Coordinates the input of all University stakeholders from initial planning schedule to ultimate delivery and distribution throughout the University to end users on a timely and accurate schedule. Coordinates inventory and asset requests with Marketing Administrative Assistant.

-Provides copywriting and editing for Marketing collateral, including but not limited to fliers, brochures, specialty pieces and both traditional and digital advertising. Responsible for content development and interdepartmental approval coordination (where necessary).

-Develops radio script content for targeted initiatives, responsible for both accuracy and time parameter match.

-Provides final copywriting and editing for web page revisions and additions. Responsible for obtaining accurate content from University departments and coordinating sign offs for Marketing related web pages.

-Oversees all aspects of Marketing direct mail campaigns, including scheduling mail outreach programs to inquirers, applicants and inactive students; development and maintenance of annual production schedule, coordinates art file release with artists, list procurement, mail house and print vendor management, and quality control

-Assists in investigating advertising and marketing opportunities; provides clear analysis and recommendations.

-Acts as liaison or establishes liaison and coordinates activities with other staff or organizations that relate to or impact on assigned responsibilities. Meets with internal clients to determine and fulfill job-related needs.

-Under supervisors’ direction, assists in researching and provides both proprietary and secondary data to support marketing initiatives; prepares concise reports with recommendations of same. Departmental contact for proprietary software data and reports (EMSI/Burning Glass).

-Develops and maintains project management systems to track and report on initiatives.
-Exercises creativity in the development of project ideas in consultation with supervisor.
-Provides supervisor with recommendations for new projects, improvements and other enhancements to help the office achieve its goals.
-Consults with and updates supervisor on regular basis concerning progress on assignments.

-Works independently on multiple, concurrent tasks.

-Prepares clear, technically sound, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.

-Meets with internal clients to determine and fulfill job-related needs.

-Prepares print and electronic correspondence in the course of official duties.

-Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

-Maintains essential records and files, integrating departmental job numbers system where applicable.

-Attends and participates in meetings and/or University events related to assigned responsibilities.

-Works with academic offices and/or departmental representatives to coordinate Marketing support services for conferences and/or events. Responsibilities may include coordination of print materials, pre- and post- event outreach, booth/display prep: table coverings/display/new skins/signage/etc., premium items, and fulfillment of other goals, as needed.

-Oversees and/or supports special projects as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Basic knowledge of the principles and techniques essential to the performance of assigned responsibilities, including but not limited to:
-Knowledge of or ability to master Microsoft Office applications for communication and record-keeping is required.

-Operation of office machines (fax, photocopier and others).
-Ability to use the Internet to retrieve information.
-Filing and record keeping systems.

-Understanding of the principles of office management.
-Knowledge of website editorial and graphics issues (programming expertise not required).

-Superior organizational skills.
-Exceptional multi-tasking abilities.
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
-Ability to exercise creativity and sound judgment, from concept to completion of projects.
-Ability to acquire basic knowledge of college policies and procedures.
-Ability to understand, analyze, interpret and apply established law regulations, policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines.
-Ability to establish cooperative, positive working relationships and coordinate with other offices, organizations and individuals.
-Ability to express ideas clearly, accurately and concisely through writing.

 

Requirements:


Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.

Experience: Two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or administration in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.

-Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college).

-A degree and/or experience in a Marketing related field is preferable.
