School of Philadelphia Ballet New Jersey Studio Manager

The School of Philadelphia Ballet / New Jersey (SPB/NJ) is seeking a dedicated and organized Studio Manager to oversee the effective operations of SPB/NJ. The Studio Manager will play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of the SPB/NJ location, including class registration; communication with staff, students, and parents; and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing arts and excellent customer service skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the arts are essential. The Studio Manager will collaborate with SPB staff to support student enrollment and bolster SPB/NJ’s connections with its communities.

Essential Functions: 

  • Manage class registration, payment processing, and data entry through SPB’s registration software (JackRabbit) and data management software (AirTable).
  • Communicate effectively with SPB/NJ staff, volunteers, vendors, students, parents, and faculty, maintaining contact lists and resolving conflicts when necessary.
  • Carefully track financial information, payment details, and expenses.
  • Collaborate with SPB staff to execute marketing efforts for the SPB/NJ location.
  • Confer with the School Director and School Principal to address questions and concerns.
  • Ensure the SPB/NJ lobby and studio spaces are clean and welcoming; reporting maintenance requests to the Facilities team.
  • Administer operating protocols for the SPB/NJ location, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Administer auditions at the SPB/NJ location.
  • Manage SPB/NJ merchandise, maintaining an on-site inventory.
  • Attend SPB team meetings; reporting on SPB/NJ enrollment, events, and marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate volunteer efforts for SPB/NJ events, such as Open Houses, School Performances, etc.
  • Other job duties as required.

Required Education & Experience:

  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience including:
  • Prior experience working in performing arts environment; preferably ballet
  • Experience in front-facing role with client/customer focus
  • Experience in marketing and sales
  • Experience in studio/facilities management

Required Competencies:

  • Entrepreneurial skills. Self-motivated, strategic and energized about starting up a new business location.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (docs, sheets, forms), JackRabbit, AirTable, and/or other scheduling software preferred.
  • Attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized and creative with deep enthusiasm for the arts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships within a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Ability to balance priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to take appropriate steps to promote and enforce safe work practices within each area of responsibility in accordance with policies and protocols.


SCHEDULE: SPB/NJ Studio Manager Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, & Friday: 3:45-8:00pm 

Wednesdays: 1:00-2:00pm (Team Meeting – Remote); 3:45-8:00pm 

Thursdays: 3:45-7:30pm 

Saturdays: 8:30am-3:00pm 

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must provide satisfactory background checks and child abuse clearances as may be required for role.
